Jonny Walker

MEAs/JonnyWalker1.jpgFrom 1968 to 1972 Jonny played in Toronto-based bands Icarus, Sundance and Dixie Rumproast - who recorded an album for Epic Records that, unfortunately, was never released (talk about nine lives - the Rumproast album hit the airwaves in 2006 making it into the rotation of the Psychedelic Sunday show on Toronto's classic rock station Q107!).

For most of the 70's Jonny held down engineer and studio manager gigs with a couple of Toronto's major recording studios and worked for WEA (Warner/Electra/Atlantic) as a Promo Rep.

Since then, Jonny has played with cover bands Funn, Hocus Pocus and Mad Dogs & Englishmen.

Most importantly, in 1984 he founded Toronto's "Tres Hombres" a ZZ Top tribute band - that is still regularly gigging 26 years later!!

He also currently plays guitar for "Debbie Jordan and A Few Good Men".

With a background like that it's no surprise that Jonny knows tone.  His years spent on the 'other side' of the board in recording studios and as a guitarist covering a wide range of musical styles has given him a critical ear and has exposed him to all manner of tone producing equipment.

Consequently, Jonny went through a rigorous (to say the least!)

evaluation of Mack amps before signing on as an Endorsing Artist and replacing his previously beloved Dr. Z amp with a Heatseeker HS-36!

Here's an email I received from Jonny after a recent gig:

"Every note was crystal clear, and balanced.  No matter what, it always sounded smooth, sweet and articulate.  I searched high and low for pedals to give that tone, now I have it without the pedals and its way better.  All the good of the pedals and more, without all the drawbacks.  I love it!"

Mack Amps is proud to add Jonny Walker to the Mack Endorsing Artist family!
